Time management is a skill that is refined through quite a bit of experimentation. As OSA students, we have probably experienced some issues with it before. We've all had our individual journeys when it comes to this sector so here are some strategies that may work for you!
Using tools like Notion, Google Calendar, or xTiles are great for mapping out your various tasks to complete over a timespan, as well as organizing them according to priority! By doing this, you can clearly see when certain tasks need to be completed by, allowing you to then slot times for you to finish these assignments/commitments. Sometimes, students will use these tools for a week or two and forget about them entirely.
In addition, you can try out a technique called the Pomodoro, where you work for 25 minutes and then take a 5-minute break (rinse and repeat). By working in these smaller intervals and giving yourself a break, your productivity can improve and you can complete tasks with more focus! If you struggle with time management when it comes to test-taking, a great strategy to use would be taking practice exams under conditions that simulate that of an actual exam. This way, you can get used to the time constraint and learn to effectively use each minute during an exam!
Overall, time management is a skill that is developed through a lot of experimentation. Not all of these tools will work for everyone. It's important to try out a combination of time management strategies and assess what works best for you.
