Dear OSA Students: This website is a compilation of resources that we hope may support you academically and emotionally on your journey through high school. Note that this was developed by students and is thus not comprehensive; however we have done our best to provide materials that we think would have helped us. Enjoy!
SET (the Student Engagement Team) aims to strengthen the OSA student body through its mentorship program and various events during the school year. Aside from that, if you have any questions regarding the academic tutoring initiatives that SET offers or with future planning, which includes scholarships and Career Fair, feel free to reach out to our email and Instagram. Alternatively, you can approach one of the Directors (Nicole, Shashwata, Iris, Lukas) or Mr. Karas, who are all eager to help you!
A closer look at the unique programs and projects that make SET foster support, growth, and belonging. From mentorship to little libraries, these initiatives highlight how SET turns ideas into meaningful action! Here are some of the key initiatives we run!
Each incoming Grade 10 student to OSA is placed in a SET Group, consisting of one Leader, a few mentors, and several peers. The SET Group is where you will make your first connections with OSA students, building lasting relationships. This social network can provide you with emotional support, and answer questions regarding what others have experienced at OSA, advice they have, and more!
SET aims to help students not only find their way into OSA, but also find opportunities outside of OSA as well, whether this be investigating diverse career opportunities or university programs. We host Talkback Sessions where OSA alumni at various universities come back and share their experiences with students. We have a weeklong career fair where students can hear from industry professionals in various sectors!
This is a recently launched SET initiative! The SET 24-25 team worked tirelessly to create this library intended to promote literacy and sharing the wonder of books not only amongst OSA students, but the community as a whole! It sits in front of the school. Feel free to take a book and leave one behind!
